Advance Bookings for Housefull 5 Raise Concerns
The film industry is expressing significant frustration towards producer Sajid Nadiadwala. The advance ticket sales for both Housefull 5 A and Housefull 5 B have launched to a disappointing reception, which is an understatement. Many exhibitors and distributors are questioning the rationale behind the choice to present two distinct endings for the film.
An upset cinema manager from a multiplex in Patna commented, “People are confused. This A and B version of the same movie is unprecedented. Instead of selecting one version, audiences are opting out entirely. The advance bookings on Monday have fallen short of expectations. The trailer also failed to resonate with viewers. I’m uncertain if the dual endings have contributed to the audience's disinterest.”
Trade expert Taran Adarsh believes that the concept of two endings might actually succeed. He stated, “Launching two climaxes for a comedy with suspense is a groundbreaking experiment — to my knowledge, it’s a first. Ultimately, it hinges on the content. If viewers connect with the film and its conclusion, they may be intrigued to see the alternate ending as well. Housefull is already a well-established franchise, and this creative twist enhances its allure.”
Producer and trade analyst Girish Johar added, “This is a fantastic concept; the comedy thriller HF5 is generating buzz. It’s one of the most successful franchises, and this unique idea is sparking conversations. If the film performs well, fans like myself will certainly want to experience BOTH versions. This will ultimately contribute positively to the box office. Kudos to the HF5 team and producer Sajid Nadiadwala for this innovative approach.”
